髹漆作为一种古老的工艺,在中华文明的发展进程中曾扮演着不可或缺的角色。今天,艺术日趋多元,思潮此起彼伏,观念的创新和样式的变换愈发频繁,髹漆艺术亦经历了自身的蜕变,渐渐形成当代髹漆艺术的面貌,在中国,原本属于工艺范畴的漆器工艺,在当代漆艺家的实践下,成就了以艺术创作为目标的髹漆艺术,并得到学界的广泛关注,同样的情形也发生在近邻日本和欧洲法国,东方与西方正在以各自的传统诠释着漆艺这一古老的艺术,并以各自的方式探索漆艺的外延。
As a culture heritage, lacquer has played an indispensable role in the development process of Chinese civilization. Today, with the increasingly diverse art and a variety of thoughts, there have been increasingly frequent innovation of concepts and changing of styles, and lacquer art has also experienced its own transformation, gradually forming the contemporary lacquer coating art. In China, the original lacquer craft has become an art aiming at artistic creation under the practice of the contemporary lacquer artists and has gained the extensive concern in the academic circles. The same situation has also happened in the neighboring country Japan and France. Both the eastern and western nations are interpreting the ancient lacquer art with their respective traditions and are exploring in their own ways to develop and extend the art.

今天,作为一门独立的艺术,髹漆不应仅仅局限于装饰、实用或绘画,不应仅仅作为附着于物的表皮,亦有作为一种艺术创作的媒材而被漆艺家们广泛的运用、研究的必要。髹漆艺术的关键是对漆之原点的关注,即剥去其工艺与实用的外衣,寻找并确立其赖以表达的语言。在这一点上,强调漆的媒材,游走于二维与三维之间,把内心的情思融合在对材质个性的诠释当中,通过对这一古老媒材的研判,挖掘其中的视觉性,从而演绎出非髹漆而不可表述的意义,乃是髤漆艺术之所以为髹漆艺术的根据之所在,也是东、西方独立的髹漆艺术家建立自身语境的基石。
Today, as an independent art, lacquer should not be used only for the decoration and paintings as covering on objects. But also should be used necessarily for the extensive practice and research by the lacquer artists. The key to lacquer art is the concern about its origin. That is to strip off its covering as a technology and practical craft, and to find and establish its expressive language, based on which, emphasizing the medium of lacquer, transforming between two dimension and three dimension, combining the inner emotions with the interpretation of the materials’ features, finding out the sense of vision through study and judge of the ancient materials, so as to express the significance of lacquer art that it is not only the basis of the art but also the foundation for the eastern and western lacquer artists to establish their own language environment.

本展览将邀请广州美术学院李伦先生、中国美术学院唐明修先生、清华美术学院程向君先生、日本东京艺术大学三田村有纯先生和法国ENSAAMA学院伊莎贝拉女士共同举办展览,借此展示五大院校漆艺家的研究成果,促成交流,以此揭示漆艺在当下的价值。并将邀请国内外著名学者、艺术批评家参加研讨,研究髹漆艺术“母语”的构成方式与风格成因。
Mr. Li Lun from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Mr. Tang Mingxiu from China Academy of Arts, Mr. Cheng Xiangjun from Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, Mr. Arizumi Mitamura from Tokyo University of the Arts, and Ms. Isabella Emmerique from Ecole Olivier de Serres(ENSAAMA) will be invited to jointly hold the exhibition, thus to demonstrate the research achievements of these lacquer artists from the five colleges and universities,and to facilitate communication, so as to reveal the current value of lacquer art. Also, the domestic and foreign well-known scholars and art critics are invited to attend to the seminars and to study the methods and causes of the formation of the lacquer art.

此次主题展,将以五位漆艺家各自的漆之语言作为开端,关注他们独特的创作历程,并以五大院校的教学的思路、系统、精神为轴心,向髹漆艺术外延探索,以呈现漆艺无限的可能性。除主题展之外,同时设有教学平行展,由五大院校的学生优秀作品组成,并通过他们的作品,全面地介绍、展示漆艺在不同文化背景、语境下产生的教学体系,这将有益于全球范围学院漆艺教学的交流与研究。
Beginning with the respective language of lacquer of the five artists, this theme exhibition will focus on their unique creation process and explore the extension of lacquer art at the core of the teaching ideas, systems and spirit of these five colleges and universities, thus to present the infinite possibilities of lacquer art. In addition to the theme exhibition, there will also be a parallel exhibition about teaching, consisting of outstanding works from students in the five colleges and universities, through which, comprehensively introducing and showing the lacquer art’s teaching system formed under different cultural backgrounds and language environments, which will also be beneficial to the exchange and study of the lacquer art teaching all around the world.

我们希望,此次展览将作为一个平等的展示、交流、研究平台,呈现一场髹漆艺术的盛会,成为一场对漆艺这一古老艺术新生的检阅。
We really hope that this exhibition will be an equal platform for demonstration, exchange and researches, and will present a grand lacquer art event to inspect this newborn and ancient art of lacquer.
